Richard Rogers House      Number 16. Capt. Richard Rogers House. 64 North Main Street. The Richard Rogers who built this house was a descendant of Nathaniel Rogers who lived on the South Green. The lot was purchased in 1728, and the house built shortly thereafter. This house was built shortly after the Rogers' Manse across High Street, possibly by the same housewright and cabinet makers. It is considered one of the most important in New England because of the wealth of decoration and panelling in the Georgian style.
