The Lord Baker House      Number 26. The Lord Baker House. 37 to 39 High Street. This house was owned by the Lord family for many years. In 1735, it was owned by Robert Lord who was a blacksmith. He made the heavy leg-irons which secured the victims of the witch hysteria who were sent to Ipswich to await trial and execution.
Many early details remain in this house. There is raised field panelling, a summer beam and huge fireplace.
