Jonathan Lummas House (1712)      Number 27. Jonathan Lummas House. (1712) 45 High Street. Supposedly, this house was built on the foundation of the original Dudley house. The Lummus family acquired the property and built the house in 1712. Through female lines the house remained in the family. During the middle years of this century, the house fell into disrepair during the long widowhood of its owner. The house seemed to be beyond repair. However, it was restored by Philip Ross in the 1960's and has been well cared for by the current owners. They won the Mary Conley Award for historic perservation this year.
