Jacob Manning House      Number 22. Jacob Manning House. 16 High Street. This house was also part of the Harris property at one time. John Harris sold the property he had inherited from his father Job to the town for use as a Poor House in 1795. Later, the town acquired a larger site for use as a Poor Farm. The town sold the property to Jacob Manning in 1818. He built this house in 1818 in a small space between the Poor House and the Lord House next door. The Poor House has since been torn down.
